What is the pay?
The pay is $175/week for half summer counselors, $200/week for full summer counselors, and $250/week for leadership staff. Staff is paid bi-weekly. We provide housing, 3 meals a day, and snacks for summer staff! The only cost would be your gas or flight expenses traveling to and from camp. We also offer a bonus! Staff that choose to work the full summer (summers 1 & 2) will receive a $300 bonus at the end of the summer. This bonus structure applies to those who choose the full summer option only. Each day missed can dock you 25% from your bonus, per the discretion of the Executive Director.
What does training look like?
You will attend staff training the week before camp with all of the staff working that summer (you will be paid for this week). Leadership and wall staff will attend an additional training before camp starts. These dates will be shared with you during your interview or upon request. If you are unable to attend the staff training week, we can work out an alternate date with you to be trained.
Would I get any time off?
Yes! A week of camp runs from Sunday afternoon to Friday evening, so you would have Friday night, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning off. You are welcome to stay at camp over the weekend if you need to. Staff also have the week of July 4th off (there is a retreat for a group during that week every summer, so if you want to work that, that is definitely encouraged). Any additional time off will need to be approved by the executive director.
What if I have to miss a few days of camp?
We encourage all staff to be at camp for its entirety unless they need to leave for an important appointment or event, or if an emergency arises. We ask that staff plan any trips to be outside of camp dates so as to not disrupt the rhythm of camp.
